HIGHTSTOWN: TCNJ inducts Balcomb into Athletic Hall of Fame

Melanie Balcomb, a 1980 Hightstown High graduate, will be one of five new inductees to The College of New Jersey Athletics Hall of Fame today (June 5).
Balcomb was a standout basketball player for Lions from 1980 to 1985. A general on the floor, she ranks amongst the all-time leaders in program history in points and assists. Balcomb led then-Trenton State College to a pair of NCAA championship tournaments, including a quarter-final appearance in 1983.
She moved on to enjoy a phenomenal coaching career in the Division I ranks and has been the head coach at Vanderbilt since 2002-03.
