Bai Brands expanding to former Ocean Spray location in Bordentown

Bai Brands has announced it is moving its main beverage storage and distribution operations to Bordentown to help support the vigorous growth of the company’s line of healthy, all-natural, five-calorie, antioxidant infusions.
Starting this week, Bai Brands will begin leasing 225,000 square feet in a massive storage facility once owned by Ocean Spray. The move represents a major milestone for a company that began in a Princeton basement just six years ago.
“As a result of our differentiated products and national distribution partnership with the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, we need more space to accommodate the continued rapid growth we have seen over the last several years,“ said Ben Weiss, founder and CEO of Bai Brands. “Moving our warehousing and distribution to a facility once used by Ocean Spray is a testament to the progress the company has made to date and a reaffirmation of the disruptive impact Bai has had in the beverage industry.“
Company officials estimate they will create approximately 100 full-time and part-time jobs in Bordentown.
“We are unbelievably proud to be a part of a brand with the amount of growth and potential as Bai,” said Larry Young, president and chief executive officer for Dr. Pepper Snapple Group. “It is exciting and inspiring to see how Bai has disrupted the beverage industry, helping to provide our consumers with healthy choices. Expanding to another warehouse and distribution facility to accommodate the fast pace growth Bai has experienced demonstrates the significant impact Bai is making in the marketplace, and we are thrilled to be a part of the team.“
Mr. Weiss started Bai in the basement of his Princeton home in 2009. Today, the beverage brand sells its all-natural, low-calorie, antioxidant-infused beverages nationwide and was recently named by Forbes as one of “America’s 20 Most Promising Companies.” The Dr. Pepper Snapple Group recently bought a minority equity stake in Bai Brands.
“It’s incredible that a homegrown New Jersey beverage company will be moving into the old Ocean Spray plant and once again creating jobs for Bordentown,” said Bordentown Mayor Joe Malone. “We look forward to working with Bai Brands to continue its meteoric success.”
Bai Brands recently signed a long-term lease for the Bordentown facility with Modern Recycled Spaces, a New Jersey firm that transforms old factories and warehouses into modern, loft-style commercial spaces.
“Bai has been a longtime tenant of ours in Hamilton, and we have enjoyed watching their explosive success,” said Daniel Popkin, owner of Modern Recycled Spaces. “We are so excited to keep helping this entrepreneurial New Jersey firm grow.”
Bai combines the benefits of antioxidants with exotic fruit tastes and natural sweeteners to deliver a distinctively bold flavor experience. It offers five-calorie, all-natural beverages without the artificial sweeteners.
