Cranbury musicians will present a concert at 7 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church of Cranbury’s Fellowship Hall at 22 S. Main St. The concert will feature classical music and show tunes by Francine Hannay, Bernhard, Philipp and Max Geiger and Leslie Hart. The suggested donation is $20 per person and proceeds will benefit the new Cranbury Community Library.
The community of churches in the greater Bordentown area will be hosting the first Bordentown Area Ecumenical Summer Festival at Retro Fitness of Bordentown, located at 860 Route 206 in Bordentown, at noon. Bring folding chairs, blankets, umbrellas and picnic lunches and enjoy an afternoon of music from Bordentown area church choirs. No. 1’s annual golf outing at the Cranbury Golf Club starts at 11 a.m. The $150 cost per player includes 18 holes of golf, cart, a barbecue, dinner, beverages, door prizes and special surprises. Hightstown Theatre in the Park is for students ages 12-16 who want to explore acting and theatre techniques through games, and acting exercises at the gazebo in Association Park. This five-week program culminates in three performances of an original play. Classes meet Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 6-8 p.m. through Aug. 2. The 63rd Army National Guard Band will perform at Bordentown Regional High School on Ward Avenue at 7 p.m. This is a free concert but a ticket is required. For tickets, call the mayor’s office at 609-298-2800, ext. 2109.
Thurs., July 2
East Windsor’s Independence Day celebration will take place in Etra Lake Park. The rain date is Sunday, July 5.
The free entertainment begins at 6 p.m. with “Jerry Rife’s Rhythm Kings Dixieland Jazz Band,” a six-piece band from the Delaware Valley area best known for its traditional jazz sound.
They will be followed at 7:30 p.m. by the “Trenton Brass Quintet Plus One,” a six-piece ensemble from Central Jersey performing Americana and a variety of popular melodies.
The fireworks display will commence at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Thurs., July 2
Bordentown Township will host fireworks at Joseph Lawrence Park. The event will have a local food court, a free kids’ corner, music and more. The park will be open at 4 p.m. and the fireworks will begin at dusk.
Sat., July 4
The annual Fourth of July Fishing Derby will begin with registration at 9 a.m. in Northern Community Park in Bordentown Township. The State of New Jersey Fish and Wildlife Division will be there at 9:30 a.m. to give a presentation and to guide the children in stocking the pond with fish. Cranbury Township fireworks will take place in Village Park. The Mercer County Symphonic Band will play at about 6 p.m. Fireworks begin at dusk. Bring blankets, chairs and picnic dinners. No alcoholic beverages are permitted in the park. The rain date is July 6.

The East Windsor Beth El Synagogue Genealogy Club will host guest speaker, Dr. Stephen Morse, at 7:30 p.m. Dr. Morse will discuss “The Julian Calendar and Why We Need to Know About It.” Beth El Synagogue is located at 50 Maple Stream Road in East Windsor. The third annual Latino Festival of Hightstown and East Windsor will be held from noon to 5 p.m. in Rocky Brook Park at 170 Bank St. in Hightstown. The event is free and open to the public. The multicultural program will showcase music and dance traditions of diverse Latino communities residing in the region, and will feature educational exhibitions representing different Latin American and Caribbean countries, arts and crafts activities and traditional foods. The purpose of the festival is to promote intercultural awareness and understanding.

Holy Cross Lutheran Church, located at 280 Crosswicks Road in Bordentown, will be having its annual Summer Vacation Bible School this week through July 31. There will be a morning session for children age 3 to kindergarten and an evening session for children in kindergarten through 5th grade. The theme for this year is “Everest” and children will embark on an icy expedition and overcome obstacles with God’s power. The Roebling Museum will host its annual summer day camp today through Aug. 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. The Emily Roebling STEAM Day Camp will explore technology and history on the grounds of the Roebling Museum. The camp is open to middle school girls and boys in 5th through 8th grades.
