- Casey Wolfe, 27, of Roosevelt, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle after she was involved in a two-car accident on Route 206 near Griggstown-Belle Mead Road at 9:12 p.m. July 9. The accident occurred when Ms. Wolfe’s car collided with a car driven by Nisha Alex, 40, of Belle Mead. Ms. Alex failed to properly change lanes and struck Ms. Wolfe’s car. The marijuana in Ms. Wolfe’s possession was discovered during the course of the accident investigation.
- Sidney Wright, 17, was charged with careless driving after the car he was driving struck the rear of a sport utility vehicle driven by Masahiro Sato, 49, of Princeton on Cherry Valley Road near Rutgers Lane at 4:02 p.m. July 10. Mr. Wright was taken to the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
- William Mehegan, 52, of Elizabeth, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for $1,000 from the Scotch Plains Police Department after he was stopped by police for using his hand-held cell phone while operating a motor vehicle on Route 206 at 3:34 p.m. July 10. He was also issued summonses for using a cell phone while driving, driving while his license is suspended and being an unlicensed driver.
