SOUTH BRUNSWICK: Class assignments will be available in August

By Deb Dawson, Special Writer
SOUTH BRUNSWICK — The July 20 Board of Education meeting was a quick one.
In his report to the board, Superintendent Gerard Jellig said elementary school parents will receive an email advising them of the student’s elementary placement during the week of Aug. 17.
In early August a letter will be mailed to all incoming sixth-grade families that will provide information on Family Connect Access, the parent/student portal. The mailing will be sent in a golden colored envelope. Dr. Jellig asked that parents keep this information in a safe place so that they will be able to access their child’s information henceforth from grades six through 12. They will also need it later in August to learn of their child’s unit placement, he said.
Also for middle school, Dr. Jellig said on Monday, Aug. 24, an autodailer call will be made to middle-school parents announcing that the unit placements for grades 6 through 8 will be available on Family Connect on Tuesday, Aug. 25. Parents will also be informed as to where on the school’s website the principal’s welcome message can be accessed.
Dr. Jellig reminded parents the summer reading for students in grades 6 through 8 and 9 through 12 are available at the middle school and South Brunswick High School websites. He also said the 2015-2016 school supply lists are published on the web site of each K-8 school.
Parents are requested to keep the district informed of their current email addresses.
The next Board of Education meeting is Monday, Aug. 17 at 7 p.m.
