EAST WINDSOR: New 55 and over rental community coming to town

EAST WINDSOR — A New Jersey developer just started building a senior residential complex that will have 86 units on Lanning Boulevard.
Sterling Properties executives Steven Katz, Nicholas Hollenbeck and Jeffrey Garfinkel broke ground on the 55 and over rental community with the help of East Windsor Township Mayor Janice S. Mironov and Town Council members on July 20.
Mayor Mironov expressed her excitement for the project, which is called The Woods at East Windsor.
“This is an exciting occasion where we launch a new attractive senior residential complex by a well-established New Jersey residential developer. As a senior community, the Woods at East Windsor is perfectly located in this planned adult zone conveniently between our dynamic Township Senior Center and the Springpoint Senior Services sponsored Wheaton Pointe. The residences are a short walk, right next door to all of the great features and programs housed in our Senior Center and close to popular stores as Target and restaurants as Perkins.”
The one- and two- bedroom residences will have individual parking garages, single-floor living space and elevator access. There will be seven home designs to choose from. Units will have nine-foot ceilings, hardwood flooring, balconies, shaker style espresso cabinets, quartz countertops, and stainless steel appliances. Washers and dryers are standard in all apartments, which will be pre-wired for cable, TV, telephone, and Internet access. There will also be onsite storage.
“The homes at The Woods East Windsor will combine modern, refined living with the energy of resort-style amenities,” Mr. Hollenbeck, director of sales and marketing for Sterling Properties, said. “Residents will enjoy socializing with their neighbors and enjoying the outdoors by visiting the community garden, strolling on the walking paths, or relaxing by the outdoor swimming pool. A dog park makes this premier community pet-friendly.”
The clubhouse will cater to casual and formal social events. There will also be a billiards room and a fitness room.
“We’re extremely excited to have taken the first big step towards building this brand new community, which will offer a serene and friendly environment for adults looking to call desirable East Windsor home,” Mr. Hollenbeck said. “With close to 500 people on our VIP waiting list, we can already sense the demand and anticipate a very quick lease-up. We think the residents of East Windsor are excited to have a luxury community that also offers a maintenance free lifestyle.”
Leasing is expected to begin in 2016.
