EAST WINDSOR — The East Windsor Policemen’s Benevolent Association (EWPBA) hosted its 29th annual Golf Outing to raise money for a variety of charities.“This year we had over 80 players who braved a morning downpour and were able to successfully complete 18 holes of golf,” said Wayne Hummel, East Windsor PBA President Local 191.
The event was held on July 14 at the Mercer Oaks Country Club located on Village Road West. Golfers teed off at 1 p.m.
“This year we raised over $12,000,” he said. “Funds raised by the EWPBA are used to support a variety of local, state and federal charities like the East Windsor Police Athletic League, Rise Community Action Service Center, New Jersey Special Olympics and the Wounded Warrior Project, to name a few.”
The day of golf was followed by a dinner reception, during which the EWPBA honored a special guest, and held a 50/50 raffle and a Chinese auction of gift bags provided by Shiseido.
“The guest of honor for the evening was Albert Werner of the Hightstown/East Windsor Heroes and Ladies youth mentoring program,” he said. “Mr. Werner was honored for his years of dedicated service to the communities and youth of Hightstown and East Windsor and for being a long-time friend and supporter of the EWPBA.”
