LAWRENCE POLICE BLOTTER: July 23

  • Seven Michael Kors handbags and three pairs of sunglasses, worth a combined $1,309.92, were shoplifted by a man at the Burlington Coat Factory store at the Lawrence Shopping Center between 3:46 p.m. and 4:39 p.m. July 12. He was observed acting in a suspicious manner, walking in and out of the store several times, police said. 
  • John Vega, 29, of Trenton, was charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a prohibited weapon after he was found to have a T-handled dagger in his possession, following a traffic stop on Brunswick Pike in the area of I-95 at 8:25 p.m. July 13. The weapon was found after he was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Hamilton Township. 
  • Joseph Trusheim, 29, of Burning Tree Lane, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after he was stopped by police at 3:49 a.m. July 14 while walking across the construction site on Bakers Basin Road near the Wawa store. The items were found after he was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Lawrence Township. 
  • Bobby Robinson, 49, of Trenton, was charged with shoplifting for taking two comforters, valued at a combined $310.28, from Sears at the Quaker Bridge Mall at 8:55 p.m. July 16. He was also found to have an outstanding warrant from Trenton. He was taken to the Mercer County Corrections Center on $2,000 bail with the 10-percent option. 
  • Julie Ambrose, 51, of Tomlyn Drive, was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, failure to maintain her lane and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle after she was involved in a one-car accident on Province Line Road at 2:37 p.m. July 17. 
  • Marlon Rojas-Escobar, 20, of Princeton Pike, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and a 17-year-old girl was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana after they were observed in the area of the Trenton Police Benevolent Association Local 11 property on Betts Avenue at 12:11 a.m. July 18. Mr. Rojas-Escobar was taken to the Mercer County Corrections Center on an outstanding warrant. 
  • A 17-year-old boy was charged with theft for taking $700 from a piggy bank in the bedroom of a Theresa Drive home at 10:01 a.m. July 18. He was visiting a friend who lives at the house, found the piggy bank in the bedroom and broke it to take the contents. 
  • Andrej Bulkin, 23, of Trenton, was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, failure to keep right and being an unlicensed driver after the car he was driving was observed swerving on Spruce Street at 12:54 a.m. July 19. 
  • Courtney Kite, 30, of Gilpin Court, was charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving at 2:22 a.m. July 19 after the car she was driving struck a utility pole at the Brunswick Circle. 
  • Raymond Rossi Jr., 27, of Trenton, was charged with shoplifting for taking $310 worth of meat from ShopRite at the Mercer Mall at 5:25 p.m. July 19. 
  • Steven Aparicio-Paz, 20, of Texas Avenue, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at 8:02 p.m. July 19 after police investigated a suspicious car in the parking lot at Halo Farm on Spruce Street. 
  • A 16-year-old girl was charged with theft for taking a car belonging to a family member without permission, and hindering apprehension by providing a false name to police at 9:39 p.m. July 19 after they responded to a call about a car stuck in a ditch on Federal City Road. Two 16-year-old girls who were with her were also charged with theft. 
