The Gateway Family YMCA – Rahway Branch is offering a free weekly Zumba class every Wednesday evening at 7:15 p.m. through Sept. 3 at the Rahway Train Station Plaza. In case of inclement weather, classes will be held at The Gateway Family YMCA — Rahway Branch, 1564 Irving St., Rahway.
“The Gateway Family YMCA strives to provide programs that promote healthy activity and movement for all,” stated Rodger D. Koerber, branch executive director. “By offering Zumba free of charge in a unique location, we feel that the YMCA can positively impact the health of the entire community.”
This program was planned in partnership with Livewell Rahway, the City of Rahway and Mayor Samson D. Steinman. The decision to offer this program free to the public speaks to the dedication and commitment that The Gateway Family YMCA feels for the greater Rahway community.
The Gateway Family YMCA – Rahway Branch recently celebrated a grand opening following a 16,938-square-foot renovation, expanding the programs and services offered to the local community.
“At the Y, we are joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility,” added Mike Tonzola, associate executive director at the Rahway Branch.
