HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP: Police blotter


Lt. Christopher H. Kascik reported:
July 13 at 9:15 p.m., Officer Mandy Grey was on patrol on Route 31 and saw large fireworks in the sky.
She located a man, Derek E. Mogull, 31, of King Court, Greenbrook, who was next to his vehicle on the side of the road, discharging aerial fireworks, police said.
Officer Grey also found he was in possession of prescription medication without a prescription, police said.
He was charged with possession of prescription drugs and fireworks. 

July 14 at 10:58 a.m., Officer Nicholas Sparaco responded to the Stop and Shop on Denow Road for a reported shoplifter.
Upon arrival, he was told a man, Zachary R. Higgins, 21, had been observed by store security trying to remove $106 of merchandise from the store, police said.
Mr. Higgins was charged with shoplifting. 

July 16 at 3:35 p.m., Sgt. Kevin Zorn stopped a 2001 Nissan on Reed Road for a motor vehicle violation — tinted windows.
The officer said he smelled the odor of burnt marijuana on the driver, Kasey T. Dearden, 19, of Fran Avenue, Ewing, and in the vehicle, police said.
Mr. Dearden was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia (a pipe) and underage possession of alcohol. 

July 19 at 4:41 a.m., Officer Sparaco was investigating an incident on Shrewsbury Court, and a man, James N. DiDonato, 23, of Mercer Street, Princeton, repeatedly attempted to obstruct the investigation, which did not involve him, police said.
He was charged with obstructing justice and resisting arrest.
His case was forwarded to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office. 

July 21 at 8:50 p.m., Officer William Gaskill was investigating a report of suspicious people on the railroad tracks behind the Pennington Market complex.
He spoke with Allison R. Willick, 18, of West Prospect Street, Hopewell, and Joshua J. Beloff, 18, of Reading Street, Pennington.
Both were found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia (pipes), police said.
They were charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. 

July 22 at 8:22 p.m., Officer Christopher Vaccarino stopped a 2010 Hyundai on Valley Road for a motor vehicle violation (swerving).
While speaking with the driver, Melissa A. Macallister, 35, of Park Drive, Doylestown, Pennsylvania, she was found to be in possession of cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia (pipe and straws), police said.
She was charged with possession of cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Her case was forwarded to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office. 

July 20 at 7 p.m., Officer Joseph McNeil charged Joseph G. Goodhouse, 64, of North Greenwood Avenue with harassment.
Police said a parent heard Mr. Goodhouse make inappropriate comments to two pre-teen females, police said.
The Mercer County Prosecutors Office assisted in the investigation. 
