MONROE – A man who was last seen on Sunday was found dead in Monroe Township on Wednesday.
Alfred “Fred” Fiume, 53, of Rutherford, did not show up for work Monday morning in Jamesburg.
He was last seen around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, and his cellphone “pinged” on Gravel Hill Road in Monroe at 7:57 a.m. Tuesday, according to a Nixle alert issued by the New Jersey State Police.
“We were advised Mr. Fiume had passed,” Capt. Patrick Feliciano of the Rutherford Police Department confirmed on Thursday. “He was apparently discovered at a home under construction in that township [Monroe].”
Officials from the Monroe Township Police Department and the State Police Missing Persons Unit have not yet provided additional information.
