Carlo Buonviaggio, 71, of Hillsborough has been charged with sexual contact and endangering a youngster in Hunterdon County.
According to Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns III, “The defendant touched and had sexually explicit conversations with the 14-year-old victim.”
The defendant was charged July 28 with criminal sexual contact, a 4th degree crime, and endangering the welfare of a child, a 3rd degree crime. He was released on his own recognizance pending a first appearance in court, according to the prosecutor.
This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is requested to contact the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit at 908-788-1129.
The prosecutor says the filing of a criminal complaint is a step in the criminal justice process. The defendant is presumed innocent until the matter is resolved in a court of law.
