HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP — A Hamilton man died when the car he was driving crashed on Scotch Road in the early morning Sunday, police reported.
Nicojon Dacayanan, 26, of Cedar Lane, Hamilton, was driving a 2004 Nissan 350 when it crashed just north of Interstate 95, police said. Police, along with the Pennington Fire Company, Pennington First Aid Squad, and Ewing Emergency Services, were dispatched at 2:34 a.m.
Police said Mr. Dacayanan was traveling north on Scotch Road when his car left the roadway on the right, striking a drainage culvert. Police have not yet determined the reason for the crash.
He was extricated from the car and was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center by Ewing Emergency Services, assisted by paramedics from Capital Health System. He was pronounced dead later at the hospital, police said.
The crash remains under investigation by Officer Michael Toth, Detective Michael Sherman and Detective Don Santora of the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.
The Union Fire Company and West Trenton Fire Company also assisted at the scene, police said.
