PRINCETON: Water connection work continues on Mount Lucas Road this week


House water service and fire hydrant installation on Mount Lucas Road will continue this week, Princeton officials announced.
Monday through Friday, weather permitting, the New Jersey American Water company’s contractor, CRJ Construction, will continue with the house water services and fire hydrant installation work within the right-of-way on Mount Lucas Road between Cherry Hill Road and Laurel Road.
In order to provide for this work, Mount Lucas Road will be closed to through traffic from Jefferson Road to Cherry Hill Road bewtween 7 a.m. to approximately 5 p.m. When work is taking place on Mount Lucas Road at Laurel Road, Laurel Road will be closed to through traffic from Mount Lucas Road to Jefferson Road.
The switchover to the new house water service will require shut-off of the water for approximately 15 minutes. The switchover will be done one house at a time and will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The contractor will alert residents prior to shutting the water off to the house and after the switchover is complete.
Should inclement weather occur, the work will proceed the following business day. Mount Lucas Road will reopen at the end of each work day.
Residents are advised to use caution when driving within the road closure area and allow additional time for travel. Provisions will be made for emergency services vehicles and for continued services such as brush collection, mail delivery, garbage and recycling pick-up.
Once CRJ Construction is finished with this work, Top Line Construction will return to complete the roadway repair work. 
