LAWRENCE — Two men who broke into an Avalon Run apartment and forced the occupant to withdraw money from the bank Aug. 12 are being sought by the Lawrence Township Police Department.
The two men entered the victim’s first-floor apartment through an unlocked sliding door around 11:45 p.m. Aug. 12 and then held him at knifepoint while they ransacked his apartment, police Lt. Joseph Amodio said.
The men forced the victim from his home and into his own car, Lt. Amodio said. He was taken to two ATM machines, where he was forced to withdraw money. The victim was driven to Trenton, where he was released — uninjured — by the men. They fled on foot.
One suspect is described as a black man, between 20 and 30 years old. He is about 6 feet tall, with a lean build, curly or Afro-like hair, a mustache and longer, pointy goatee. He was wearing jeans and a blue polo shirt with “Wimbledon” written across the chest in while letters, Lt. Amodio said.
The second suspect is a black man, also between 20 and 30 years old. He stands about 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build and a close-cut hairstyle. He was wearing cargo-style shorts and a gray T-shirt.
