PRINCETON: ‘No violation’ found in alleged flap between municipal administrator, rec director

An internal investigation into an alleged confrontation between Princeton municipal administrator Marc D. Dashield and recreation director Ben Stentz has ended with the town saying there was “no violation” of the municipal personnel manual.
“There’s no violation,” Councilwoman Jo S. Butler said Tuesday without elaborating on what an outside attorney, Joseph M. Wenzel, found during his probe of a complaint that Mr. Stentz had brought against Mr. Dashield. “It’s resolved, and we’re moving forward.”
Mr. Stentz had alleged that Mr. Dashield made physical contact with him June 25 after confronting him following a meeting the two of them attended in the municipal building with other town officials and representatives of the business community. The meeting dealt with a proposal to require employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave.
During that meeting, Mr. Stentz raised a point that tracking that could pose an administrative challenge for his department, which employs large amounts of seasonal help during the year.
Reached for comment Tuesday, neither man had much to say.
“The issue has been resolved, and we’re moving on,” Mr. Dashield said.
“I don’t have any comment on that personnel matter,” Mr. Stentz said.
Officials have been and remain mum on the subject. Councilwoman Jenny Crumiller had no comment Tuesday when asked about the matter.
