While on patrol in the area of Route 130 South and Hickory Corner Road at 12:08 a.m. on Aug. 30, police observed a gray Lexus driving erratically. The vehicle was stopped on the shoulder of Route 130 just south of Hickory Corner Road. While speaking with the driver, the officer smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage from within the vehicle. The officer also noticed that the driver had bloodshot watery eyes. The driver was given field sobriety tests and arrested. Shashikan Mistry, 58, of East Windsor, was charged with drunken driving, reckless driving, careless driving and failure to maintain a lane.
