Now is the time for banks to return the favor

The monumental crash of Wall Street and the financial institutions in 2008 led to our elected officials giving a bailout of untold sums of money from the pockets of the American people to keep the current economic system afloat.

Now that the American people are facing a future of dire economic straits, it is payback time.

The call is for the banks and financial institutions to take all the interest paid on credit cards and loans for the last eight years and subtract it from the principal currently owed. The only group not eligible will be the 1 percenters for reasons that should be obvious.

Those people in the world of money will not act on this request unless the American people demand it through their elected officials. And it begins with the unrelenting voice of each citizen acting alone at the public portion of every municipal government meeting.
