FREEHOLD — The Freehold Borough Human Relations Committee will host its third annual Senior Appreciation Day from noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 20 in the Monmouth County Hall of Records Annex parking lot, Main Street. Admission is free.

The rain date is Sept. 27.

Senior Appreciation Day was created to recognize senior citizens for their years of service to the community, according to Carol Lida, who chairs the Human Relations Committee.

The event will include information about community services for seniors and feature vendors, crafts, food, entertainment and more.

“This is our third annual Senior Appreciation Day,” Lida said. “We are extremely excited about celebrating the contributions of our seniors and about having something wonderful for them to look forward to on an annual basis. Our vendors and entertainment have been chosen to cater to our seniors’ needs.

“We are looking forward to the community coming out and supporting our event and to having a successful day. We are very grateful the community is supporting our event. We want our seniors to have a great day. This is for them,” she said.

Gianna Dell’Omo, the vice chairwoman of the Human Relations Committee, said residents from all communities are welcome to attend Senior Appreciation Day.
