HILLSBOROUGH: Flu vaccinations offered next week

The Hillsborough Health Department will make seasonal flu vaccinations available to residents at clinics next week.
The township’s health department will offer flu shots for residents at the municipal complex on Wednesday, Sept. 30, from 2-4 and 5-7 p.m. and also on Thursday, Oct. 1, from 4-7 p.m.
“The more people vaccinated, the less flu will circulate,” said Committeeman Frank DelCore at Monday’s governing board meeting.
Flu vaccinations can also be given by a physician, at walk-in medical facilities and pharmacies. It is important to contact a physician to set up an appointment to obtain a vaccination.
The Hillsborough Health Department seasonal flu vaccinations are available to Hillsborough Township and Millstone Borough residents age 18 years and older. The flu vaccine will protect against the four strains of influenza most likely to cause illness during the 2015-16 season.
There is a $25 charge to all participants unless a Medicare Part B card is presented. Medical insurance is not accepted at the township’s clinic. Those individuals allergic to eggs, have any severe allergies or have a fever may be excluded from receiving the vaccine.
Advance registration is not required. Clinics will be held as long as vaccine is received. Check the website at www.hillsborough-nj.org for schedule changes.
