HIGHTSTOWN: East Windsor PAL soccer

The East Windsor PAL U12 Thunder picked up a valuable three points on the road with a 3-0 victory over the Rumson Devil Dogs. Izzy Del Toro, Teresa Allison, and Anna Radigan each scored goals. Bella Cammarata and Emily Coyle had outstanding defensive efforts while Emilia Vallejos created several Thunder scoring opportunities with her speed.
The U10 Arsenal battled Premier Division powerhouse Manalapan Hot Shots to a 2-2 draw. The Arsenal dominated play in the first half as Rachael Charsky converted a penalty kick. After falling behind 2-1, Abigail Carter tied the game with five minutes remaining. The Arsenal pushed hard offensively with strong efforts from Tanya Aughenbaugh, Elise Price, Alayna Giampolo and Allie Szelag. The Arsenal are unbeaten in 23 consecutive league games and will battle undefeated Middletown Red next week.
The U-14 Storm tied Jackson’s Eclipse, 2-2. Grace O’Leary started the scoring by stealing the ball from the sprawled goalkeeper. Jackson responded soon after placing a deflection into the corner of the net. The defense of the Storm’s Danielle Faup, Meg Regan and Jessica Gratkowski repeatedly shut down the Eclipse’s chances. Early in the second half Storm again took the lead as Julia Gorajek fired a shot to the corner off a through ball from Payton Rupp. The Eclipse tied it moments later arching a shot from the corner of the 18 into the top right corner of the net.
CADET GIRLS
The Jersey Jammers Team, sponsored by St. Paul Lutheran Church defeated The Dairy Queen Raspberries, 2-0, in Cadet girls play. Scoring for the Jersey Jammers were Medina Gjonbalaj and Saanya Arora. Strong midfield play came from Camilla Sabogal and Kayla Lewis, and a solid defense was led by Shania West, Samanththa Zimmerman, Dakota Bacon and Genesis Arias. Maya Nielson applied offensive pressure.
For the Raspberries, Samantha Strickland, Sahara Bhathal, Diana Rodriguez, Sophia Knicos and Olivia Roberts helped provide an offensive thrust. Rachel Shumsky and Gabbi DeMarco forced several turnovers on defense, while Mia Serrano, Victoria Woods and Emmalee Rainey all helped defensively.
PRE-CADET
The Conair Corporation Lightning, defeated Allen & Stults Insurance Co., 2-0. Anisa Mascoll scored the only goal of the first half. Late in the second half, Sammy Forte took some pressure off her team with a second goal. Jordana Krieger made six saves in goal during the first half.
POST-CADET
In Post-Cadet girls play, the Windsor Radiology Warriors took a 2-1 win over the Roof Deck Inc. Dragon. Kayla Ordonez and Camila Solares had the Warriors goal, while Kiara Quezada, Estefany Tapia and Isabella Sabogal were tough on defense. Natali Suilanda applied offensive pressure and Mackenzie Dunuto played well in the midfield.
The Dragons goal came from Destiny Palaez off an assist from Brianna Tius. Katie Cargille played well in goal, while Veda Dadi played strong defense.
The Warriors also took a 2-0 win over the Kucker Haney Paint Co. Soccer Stars, as Jessica Meidhof and Kayla Ordonez scored. Solid defense came from Isabella Sabogal, Estefany Tapia and Mackenzie Denuto,with great play offensively by Namia Lewis.
For the Soccer Stars, Gianna Burzi and Maya Matorin played well in goal while Morgan Randall had a stellar defensive game. Genevieve Rosenberger played well at both ends of the field.
