A fugitive suspect, who allegedly is responsible for almost 50 car burglaries in South Brunswick, has been located by police.
A citizen, who read a police alert on Nixle last week, reportedly observed Jarred Robinson, 23, of Franklin, walking in the Society Hill development off Route 27 in Franklin.
According to the investigation reports, Robinson said he is not affiliated with the two other suspects charged in the case, Jermaine Robinson Jr., 21, of New Brunswick (no relation) and 19-year-old Jerome Thomas, 19, of Somerset.
Robinson was reportedly linked to a stolen van police found on Springdale Road. Police determined that the van, which belonged to an adult day care center in North Brunswick, had allegedly been stolen more than a dozen times by Robinson over the past month. Robinson previously worked for the adult day care and reportedly kept the van keys, according to police. Police are alleging he used the van to drive around neighborhoods and enter vehicles.Robinson was connected to several car burglaries in the Royal Oaks Apartment Complex after he purportedly ran from officers and dropped his wallet with his driver’s license in it, according to police.
Robinson is being held at the Middlesex County Correction Center in North Brunswick on possession of a stolen motor vehicle, burglary, tampering with evidence and theft. Bail was set at $30,000.
