HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP: Blake will represent working mothers

Moira Sandford, Hopewell Township
I am writing in support of Julie Blake, an outstanding candidate for Hopewell Township Committee. As a working mom with 18 years of professional experience bringing people together to find common sense solutions, I know Julie will work tirelessly for all the residents of the township to make it more affordable to live here. As a life-long environmentalist, I know she is deeply concerned about the threat the PennEast pipeline poses to our health and our children’s future.
With all the challenges facing us, we need a fresh perspective at the table, someone who sees the issues as a longtime resident and working mother. Women make up over 50 percent of the population of our township. Yet, over the last decade, only two women have been elected for every 10 men who have served on our Township Committee. Balance is important. When priorities are underrepresented, the entire community is underserved.
We now we have an opportunity to make sure our voices our heard and to bring a much needed balance to the Hopewell Township Committee by electing Julie Blake on Nov. 3.
