Shore Regional High School won the ShopRite Cup as the top Group I school in the state in New Jersey Interscholastic Athletic Association competition in 2014-15.

Rowan University senior running back Withler Marcelin (Ocean Township) led the football team to a 59-0 victory over Southern Virginia University Oct. 17. Marcelin carried the ball 12 times for 105 yards and four touchdowns in the first half. His four scores on the ground set the program record for rushing touchdowns in a game. Marcelin now owns 22 records. For the season, he has 727 yards on 146 attempts and 11 touchdowns. He also has seven catches for 68 yards and one touchdown.

The Monmouth Surf 16U softball team won the championship and went undefeated with six wins and no losses at the Diamond Nation Jennie Finch tournament in Flemington Oct. 10-11.

These dedicated and committed girls are also in first place in their high school division of the Fall All Shore softball league and have posted a combined 12-0 record in tournament and league play. This fast-pitch softball team is based out of Tinton Falls and coached by Michael Lane.

Hockey is back in Trenton. Taking place on Oct. 30-31, the first Capital City Classic will host Princeton University, Yale University, the University of Massachusetts and the University of Maine in a four-team tournament that includes daily doubleheaders.
