To the editor:
We have had the distinct pleasure of serving on the Township Committee with Deputy Mayor Greg Burchette for the past three years. We have also been privileged to work and see the positive contributions Committeeman Carl Suraci has brought to this town in his ten plus years of public service to Hillsborough. We are proud to endorse both of these outstanding public servants and leaders for re-election to the Township Committee.
Greg Burchette and Carl Suraci are both long time residents of Hillsborough, and have consistently shown their dedication to our community with an unrelenting focus on ensuring that the needs of our residents are met. They are both hard working, disciplined, focused individuals of high character and integrity, in addition to being extremely effective leaders for Hillsborough.
They are not just politicians; they are husbands, fathers, uncles, coaches and leaders. They are committed to making Hillsborough a better place for residents of today and for residents of the future. Their decisions and actions remain true to their core principles of fiscal responsibility, a businesslike approach to municipal government, preservation of open space, economic growth and support for our business community and open and transparent government.
With their leadership and support, the municipal government has kept spending below 2 percent cap, significantly increased the number of acres of preserved land services, instituted the Shop Hillsborough program to promote local business and expanded programs for our seniors and veterans.
Through the efforts of the Republican-led Township Committee, we have striven to keep Hillsborough as one of the “One of the Best Places to Live in America.” Hillsborough continues to be recognized by a number of well-respected third-party sources as a model community, including Hillsborough being the only town listed from New Jersey in Money Magazine.
In Hillsborough, your elected officials work as a team. Greg Burchette and Carl Suraci have consistently have proven themselves to be the type of public servants and leaders we can all be proud of. We strongly endorse their re-election. We believe they have earned your trust and we hope they have earned your vote on Nov. 3.
