Edison urged to lower property taxes

I have written about this issue in the past and have been called a bigot. On behalf of many voters in Edison, particularly senior citizens and those struggling financially, I urge the town to lower property taxes. Many have had to move out of Edison and out of New Jersey. They cannot afford the taxes.

One issue raising our taxes is the fact that students are using our schools while their legal residences lie outside Edison. We, especially seniors, have paid in to the school system for decades. Some of us have always sent our children to private schools. At this stage, seniors should be appreciated and allowed to stay in their homes through the lowering of our property taxes.

It is also absurd that certain professions get huge pensions and lifetime full health benefits while so many of us are struggling. I myself pay a huge amount in property taxes and am a retired senior.
