Library schedules film, talk with Iraqi War vet

Iraq War veteran Dennis Anthony Penny Jr. will shares his experiences transitioning from war zone to everyday life in a program following the screening of “Crisis Hotline: Veterans Press 1” (HBO Documentary Films, 2014) set for 1 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Monroe Township Public Library, 4 Municipal Plaza.

Penny took up his family’s military legacy with the U.S. Navy after graduating from North Brunswick High School in 2000. He served two tours of duty (2001- 05) in Operation Iraqi Freedom attached to a Helicopter Combat Support Squadron based out of Coronado, Calif. While serving, Penny received several awards including the Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and Navy Marksmanship Medal.
