PRINCETON: University student charged with criminal sexual contact in dorm room

A Princeton University sophomore was arrested Wednesday on charges that he illegally entered a co-ed’s dorm room two weeks ago while she was asleep and touched her sexually, authorities said Thursday.
Ronbo Fan, 19, is charged with third-degree burglary and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office said. He is free on his own recognizance but is barred from the campus, said school and law enforcement officials.
The female victim, who has not been identified, contacted campus security to report the Oct.31 incident that occurred inside 1915 Hall, a dormitory.
“The victim reported she woke when she felt someone touching her and found an unknown individual next to her bed,” said Prosecutor’s Office spokeswoman Casey A. DeBlasio by email Thursday. “The victim screamed and the suspect fled.”
She said the school’s Department of Public Safety identified Mr. Fan as the suspect after an investigation. He was arrested on campus, Ms. DeBlasio said. He is due to be arraigned Nov.23 in Princeton Municipal Court, she said.
An Internet search found that Mr. Fan was a top student at his high school in hometown of Plano, Texas.
