The Monmouth Museum’s Annual Holiday Exhibition is “Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Oh My!,” with an opening reception on Nov. 22 from 4 to 6 p.m. The Monmouth Museum model train display will return. The Friends of the Monmouth Museum will present their Annual Holiday Tree, decorated with transportation memorabilia.
Art scholars often talk about how art transports the viewer to another time or place. Transportation is defined as the movement of people, animals and goods from one location to another.
It is crucial to commerce, the development of civilizations and to maintaining relationships between people near and far. This exhibition presents visual depictions of all means of transportation imagery in various media.
The exhibit runs through Jan. 3. The holiday gift gallery opening reception is Nov. 20 from 6 to 9 p.m.
The Monmouth Museum is located on the campus of Brookdale Community College, 765 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft. Admission to the museum is $8 per person; children under 2 are free.
