Winter coat drive to conclude Dec. 11

A winter coat collection to benefit those less fortunate will run through Dec. 11 at four locations in South River and East Brunswick. Sponsors of the drive are the South River Board of Health; East Brunswick Township; East Brunswick Parks and Recreation; Alternative Integrated Medical Services (AIMS Clinic) and Middlesex County Vocational and Technical High School, School of Career Development, both East Brunswick; and the Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple Youth Group, New Brunswick.

New or like-new winter coats (excluding leather and suede winter coats) may be dropped off at the following locations: the South River Administration Building, 48 Washington St. (blue recycling bin in the building foyer), 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday; East Brunswick Township Office, 1 Jean Walling Civic Center Drive, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday; East Brunswick Parks and Recreation, 334 Dunhams Corner Road, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday; Alternative Integrated Medical Services, 150-A Tices Lane, East Brunswick, 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and 9 a.m.-noon Thursdays and Saturdays.

All donated coats, which will be drycleaned compliments of Middlesex County Vocational and Technical High School, School of Career Development, will be distributed to homeless men and women in New York City, students at the Edison Job Corps and residents of South River. Distribution for South River residents is scheduled for 10 a.m.-noon, Jan. 2 and 9, 2016, at the First Reformed Church garage, 40 Thomas St., South River. Distribution is scheduled for Jan. 16 in New York City.
