Senior Christopher Allen is one of the lacrosse team captains for the 2016 season at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Col.
Allen, a midfielder from Hillsborough who graduated from the Peddie School in 2012, played in all 15 games last season and was fourth on the team with 17 goals and 21 points. He led the team with four man-up goals and also collected 13 ground balls. He had season highs of three goals and four points in the win over VMI. He matched his season high of three goals in the win over Detroit.
The other co-captain will be Danny Brown, an attackman from Mooresville, N.C.,
The Falcons are coming off of an 8-7 overall record in 2015, clinching back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since the 1996 and 1997 seasons.
After being an independent last season, Air Force will be in the Southern Conference for the 2016 season. The Falcons open the season with an exhibition game on Jan. 30 in an exhibition against Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind.
The Falcons will kick off the regular season on the road at academy rival Navy, Feb. 6.
Air Force opens the home schedule on Saturday, Feb. 13, against the 2015 NCAA national champion Denver Pioneers.
