Model Train & Toy Expo slated for Jan. 10

The Model Train & Toy Expo will be held at St. Joseph High School, 145 Plainfield Road, Metuchen, on Jan. 10 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Children under 10 are admitted free with an adult. A special presentation will also be held at 11 a.m. by Frank Duke on “Questions on Model Railroading.” View numerous operating layouts, get spare parts for both vintage and newer train models and visit with the train doctor for repairs or purchase new boxed sets of the “Polar Express.”

Classic Toy Train Magazine has donated numerous other prizes including magazine subscriptions and train related introductory booklet “giveaways” to the public.

Other highlights include Greenberg Book Store, as well as several other club layouts with multiple train gauges and tables of toy trains in every gauge. Door prize drawings will be announced every half hour including the Grand Prize Winner of a “Thomas the Play Station Train Set” at 2:30 p.m. (winner need not be present to win).

View train layouts operated by members of Central New Jersey “N” Track Club, the Independent Hi-Railers and the Staten Island Society of Model Railroaders. Chat with scenic specialists and learn about wiring techniques and the art of displaying a landscape filled with farm and mountain scenes for your trains.

Tickets for the show are $7; children under the age of 10 are admitted free with a parent. Visiting hours of the expo are Sunday only from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Jan 10. For more information, call 201-327-5254 or 732-845-5966.2
