RUMSON — St. George’s by-the- River Episcopal Church will host its fourth annual Canterbury art show, “A Tapestry of the Arts,” Sept. 4-6 at 7 Lincoln Ave., Rumson. The premier art show will feature juried and non-juried works by over 90 artists, including first-time participants.
One of the new artists is Lee Jamieson of Spring Lake. Watercolors are her medium of choice, but she has also explored using oils and pastels to paint landscapes and portraiture.
When Jamieson joined a small design group specializing in textile floral designs for home furnishings, she transferred her skills for detail and scientific accuracy to botanical painting.
“Unless you study the intricacy of how a leaf turns or how a petal unfolds, you miss the little surprises that bring joy and delight. This is what I try to show with my paintings — things you would not see as a casual observer of flowers or plants,” Jamieson said in a press release.
Jamieson is an exhibiting member of the Guild of Creative Art in Shrewsbury and is represented by Frederick Gallery in Spring Lake, Shore Moments Gallery in Manasquan and Windsor Gallery in Colts Neck. She is also a member of the Belmar Arts Council.
