Mr. Zybort, 90, of Little Silver, died April 22, 2010. He served during World War II as a flight engineer and gunner with the 392nd Bombardment Group, 2nd Air Division. His B-24 was shot down over Hamburg, Germany, where he was taken prisoner and held for nine months as a prisoner of war, having his leg amputated as a result of his injuries. Mr. Zybort worked for 30 years in the Department of Defense as an industrial security specialist until his retirement in 1977. His wife, Anna Mildred Rabb, died in 2001; a sister, Anna, a brother, John, and a brother-in-law, Frank, predeceased Mr. Zybort. He is survived by his wife of three years, Helena Humienna Zybort; three stepchildren, Agatha Przytula of Warsaw, Poland, and Jacek and Pawel Przystupa of Little Silver; two sisters, Jane Helms of Seattle, Wash., and Wanda Hanas of Scranton, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Julia of Derby, Conn.; and many nieces and nephews. A Requiem Eucharist was celebrated at St. John s Episcopal Church. Memorial gifts may be made to St. John s Church, 325 Little Silver Point Road, Little Silver, NJ, 07739. Burial will take place at a later date with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank.
