Celebrate July Fourth at Oceanfest

TOP PICK

The 25th annual Oceanfest, a family-friendly celebration, will take place 10 a.m.-10 p.m. July 4, rain or shine.

The annual Independence Day celebration takes place along the half-mile stretch of the Long Branch Oceanfront Promenade from Pier Village north to Seven President’s Park.

Oceanfest offers something for everyone — delicious food, original crafts, professional sand sculpting, themed children’s shows, amusements, a brandnew zipline and a spectacular fireworks display synchronized to patriotic music.

Featured musical performances by Rave On, the Sam Haiman Band, Valarie Adams & the Dimensions, Predator Dub Assassins and Mad Satta will take place on the Great Lawn Stage from 12:30 p.m. until the fireworks display begins.

In addition to the Great Lawn Stage, the Garfield Memorial Stage on the Promenade will welcome back the Oceans of Rhythm Festival, which is set to begin at 4 p.m.

The Garfield Memorial Stage will also showcase a wide range of children’s entertainment, including a pirate show, circus performers, balloon artists, strolling cartoon characters and a wizard show.

For 25 years, Oceanfest at Long Branch has hosted a world-class fireworks display beginning at 9 p.m.

Oceanfest sponsors include the Greater Long Branch Chamber of Commerce and the city of Long Branch.
