LITTLE SILVER — The Red Bank Regional (RBR) Board of Education appointed Thomas Pagano of Interlaken as the district’s interim superintendent.
His employment with the district on a part-time basis began July 1 after the departure of former Superintendent Jim Stefankiewicz.
Last month, the board accepted the resignation of Stefankiewicz, who will assume the position of superintendent in the Ocean Township School District.
“The board appreciates the superior leadership Dr. Stefankiewicz has provided our district over the past years, as RBR has continued to excel in educational excellence,” Board President John Garofalo said in a press release. “As we conduct a permanent search for a new superintendent, we are confident that Mr. Pagano’s experience and knowledge, coupled with the first-rate administrative staff at RBR, will serve the district well until a new superintendent is in place.”
Pagano held the position of superintendent in the Ocean Township district from 1998 until his retirement in 2010, following a long career at the district. He has also served as the interim superintendent of the Middletown Public School District.
