RED BANK — Children are invited to enjoy the following programs in the Avice Noblett Children’s Room of the Red Bank Public Library in March.
“Grab Your Hat and Read with the Cat” marks Read Across America Day on Saturday, March 2, the birthday of Dr. Seuss. Children are invited to drop in between 1 and 5 p.m. for “Cat in the Hat” and “Green Eggs and Ham” crafts in the Children’s Room.
A Wii Party will be held on Monday, March 11, 4-5 p.m. Kids will play and enjoy board games, crafts, and snacks. This program is open to children age 5 and older.
“Artsy Smartsy” will take place on Saturday, March 16, from 2-3 p.m. Children age 5 and older will learn about the painter and sculptor Amedeo Modigliani, and create selfportraits with pastels in his style.
The Rockin’ Readers Tween Book Club will meet on Wednesday, March 27, from 5- 6 p.m. for children ages 9 to 12. Call the library to find out the title of the book for March.
Timber, a certified therapy dog, visits the library twice a month to sit with and listen to hesitant readers and dog lovers. Children age 5 and over can register for a free 15-minute Timber Time session on the first and third Wednesday of each month between 4 and 5 p.m. Timber is a beautiful, patient, loving and gentle listener.

The children’s room also offers free dropin story times for young children with a caregiver on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m. Come to the library for some quick stories, musical activities and crafts. Registration is not required for story times.
The Young Adult Anime Club for teens and preteens in grades 6 through 12 meets on the first Saturday of each month from 3-4:30 p.m. On March 2, the group will watch a few episodes of a TV show and enjoy some snacks.
The Young Adult Book Club for teens and young adults in grades 6 through 12 meets on the first Monday of each month from 4-5 p.m. The group will discuss “Erebos” by Ursula Poznanski on March 4.
