Mr. Rivera, 56, of Red Bank, died Feb. 21, 2009, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was a self-employed gardener. He is survived by his wife, Leonarda Soto Rivera; three sons, Luis Angel Rivera and Eliseo Angel Rivera, both of Long Branch, and Elias Angel Rivera of Red Bank; a daughter, Esther Janis Rivera of Ocean; two brothers, Justiniano Rivera of Freehold and Anibal Rivera of Long Branch; three sisters, Tomasa Aponte and Maria T. Rivera, both of Long Branch, and Anajulia Gonzalez of Puerto Rico; and six grandchildren. Arrangements were by the Hoffman Funeral Home, Long Branch.
