St. Peter’s Church in Freehold will open its 2010-11 Downtown Concert Series season with a concert by pianist Michael Sheppard at 7:30 Oct. 2.
The show will feature works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Frederic Chopin, Earl Wild, George Gershwin and others. Concertgoers will have an opportunity to meet the artist and learn more about the series at an informal postperformance gathering at the American Hotel, located at 18 East Main St. in Freehold.
The series continues with performances by Kenji Haba on guitar and Gregory Durozel on violin at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 12 and tenor Eduardo Villa at 7:30 p.m. on May 7. The concerts will showcase a diverse range of music in an historic venue in the heart of downtown Freehold. Tickets for each concert cost $20 and tickets for children under the age of 13 cost less than $10. Seating is limited and tickets should be pre-ordered.
