Old Bridge Public Library announces offerings

The Old Bridge Public Library Main Branch, Route 516 and Cottrell Road, has scheduled several upcoming events.

The Old Bridge Writers Circle support and critique group will meet at 7 p.m. on Aug. 9. Individuals who have written or would like to write stories, novels, magazine articles or essays are invited. The group consists of published and unpublished writers of all genres. Members critique the works of others, receive advice about their own writings and discuss their personal experiences as authors. Participants should bring samples of their work.

A meeting of the Savvy Seniors discussion group is set for 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 14. The group meets on the second Tuesday of every month in the library’s large meeting room to discuss many topics including books, current events, hobbies, television, health and nutrition. Trips to museums, parks, antique shows, Broadway shows, etc., are scheduled throughout the year.

The Conspiracy of Paper by David Liss will be the topic at the Book Discussion Group of Old Bridge meeting set for 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 23 in the library conference room. All book lovers are welcome. Copies of the book will be available at the library circulation desk.

The People Poets of Old Bridge will be on vacation during the month of August but will return on Sept. 11.
