EDISON — The New Jersey Comic Expo is coming to Edison. MAD Event Management will debut its newest comic convention on Nov. 21-22 at the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center, 97 Sunfield Ave.
The biggest event of its kind to come to the Garden State, according to organizers, the expo is a family friendly celebration of the culture of comic books, and is the place for comic fans, geeks and creative minds to come together as a community and revel in fun and entertainment.
The expo will feature two full days of panels and entertainment, including a lineup of guest stars. In addition to the celebrity guests, publishing companies, writers and artists will all be on hand. The event will feature custom cars and more from the world of television and film, organizers said.
Among the special guests will be Chris Claremont, writer of “Uncanny X-Men,” “The New Mutants” and “Fantastic Four”; Drea de Matteo, whose acting credits include “The Sopranos,” “Sons of Anarchy” and “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”; Mark Bagley, artist on “The Amazing Spider-Man,” “New Warriors,” “Justice League of America” and “Batman”; Garth Ennis, creator of “Preacher” and “The Boys,” and writer for “Punisher” and “Hellraiser”; Fabian Nicienza, co-creator of “Deadpool” and “X-Force,” and writer for “X-Men,” “X-Force” and “Thunderbolts.”
And Shane Davis, artist for Marvel and DC comics, including “Justice League of America,” “Green Lantern,” “Venom” and “Avenging Spider Man”; Erica Schultz, writer for “Swords of Sorrow” and “Rise”; Dennis Calero, artist for “X-Factor,” “Ash and the Army of Darkness” and “The Vampire Diaries”; Ethan Van Sciver, DC artist for “Green Lantern,” “The Flash” and “Batman: The Dark Knight”; Bob Schreck, senior vice president and editor-in-chief of Legendary Comics; Joe Harris, comic book writer and filmmaker, of IDW’s “X-Files,” Image Comics’ “Great Pacific,” “Bishop: The Last X-Man,” “Firestorm” and “Vampirella Vs. Dracula”;
Also, Tommy Walker, who plays Francis on Marvel’s “Daredevil” on Netflix; Alan Robert, founding member of rock band Life of Agony, and creator, writer and artist of IDW’s “Killogy”; Destiny Nickelsen, Cosplayer and costume designer; YuffieBunny, Cosplayer and alternative fashion model; and Vegas Power Girl, a noted Cosplayer.
The expo will feature interactive environments for hardcore and casual fans of all ages, including “Cosplay Corner,” for those who live and breathe all things comic book.
