JACKSON – The service and sacrifice of members of the United States armed forces will be publicly saluted by the community on Oct. 10.
For the eighth consecutive year, the Central Jersey Rifle and Pistol Club, Jackson, will host the Wounded Warrior Parade. The parade will start at 9:30 a.m. and proceed from the Jackson Justice Complex, West Veterans Highway, to the club’s property on South Stump Tavern Road.
“With the sacrifices these soldiers have made for us and our country, being there for them will reinforce our support and gratitude toward them and their brothers and sisters who are still in harm’s way,” Mayor Michael Reina said.
Residents of Jackson and neighboring towns are welcome to attend the parade and show the veterans their thanks and appreciation by lining West Veterans Highway and cheering, Reina said.
Veterans of World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan are expected to participate.
Representatives of the Jackson Police Department, fire companies, emergency medical personnel, motorcycle clubs and other organizations will escort the veterans to the Central Jersey Rifle and Pistol Club, where they will have the opportunity to use the private facility’s shooting range.
