Mr. Chapas, 55, of Jackson, died Jan. 16, 2012. He graduated from Manalapan High School in 1974 and attended Brookdale Community College, Lincroft. He was employed as an assistant vice president at Credit Suisse First Boston in New York City for 15 years and continued his financial industry career as an assistant vice president at Merrill Lynch in Pennington. Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Martha; a daughter, Laura-Michelle Chapas; his parents, Nancy and Steven Chapas; a sister, Denise Chapas; and his mother- and father-inlaw, Mercedes and Bertolome Capote. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Jackson, followed by a private cremation. Arrangements were by the George S. Hassler Funeral Home, Jackson.
