“Alice Meets the Caterpillar” by Laura Mandile Gallery U in Red Bank is hosting an exhibit that highlights the creative talent of art teachers working with students in kindergarten through college. “Back to School: An Exhibition Showcasing the Talents of Art Teachers in Monmouth and Ocean Counties” opened on Sept. 14 and will run through Oct. 11. According to a gallery statement: “Far too often art teachers get so involved in teaching our children that they neglect creating and promoting their own art.”
The gallery received more than 110 submissions from art teachers who wanted to participate in the celebration. More than 40 pieces were selected to represent the diverse talents of art teachers in Monmouth and Ocean counties.
