James F. Carey Jr.

Mr. Carey, 68, of Colts Neck, formerly of Sayreville, died Jan. 6, 2011, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a millwright for E.I. DuPont de Nemours, Sayreville, and also owned and operated Carey Home Improvement, Sayreville and Colts Neck. Mr. Carey was a lifelong Boy Scout who earned the rank of Eagle Scout at age 13, making him one of the youngest to earn such an honor. He was predeceased by a sister, Maria Miragliotta. Surviving are his wife Patricia Carey of Colts Neck; two sons, John Carey of Colonia and Christopher Carey of Monroe; a daughter, Maggie Fischer of Jackson; a brother, Walter Carey of Rahway; a sister, Edie Nowak of Linden; and nine grandchildren. Afuneral service was held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, followed by a private interment at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover, Burlington County.
