The second annual Rutgers Basketball Tip-Off benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer will be held on Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Rutgers Athletic Center, Piscataway. The evening will include watching a Rutgers men’s basketball practice, meeting Scarlet Knights head coach Mike Rice and his wife, Kerry, cocktails, a silent auction, and the opportunity to meet the Rutgers coaches and players. Winter basketball registration is under way for Jackson residents between the ages of 7 and 17. Practices and games will be held weeknights and on Saturdays in the Switlik and Holman school gymnasiums. The fee for boys and girls is $75. The program will run from October through March.
