Monmouth County Freeholder Theodore J. Narozanick has announced the rules and regulations by which veterans will be able to use the new Veterans Community Based Outpatient Clinic (VCBOC) at Fort Monmouth. The clinic opened officially last month.
"I have been requested to disseminate these rules to the veterans in Monmouth County so they may avail themselves of the medical services being offered by the Veterans Administration," he said.
The following rules have been supplied by the Veterans Administration:
Veterans wishing to register or make arrangements to transfer their care to the Veterans Community Based Outpatient Clinic at Fort Monmouth should call (732) 532-4483 to reach Practice Manager Nadine McGreevey or (732) 532-4480 to reach Elizabeth Loosen.
Once they are registered and scheduled for an upcoming appointment veterans are asked to following a few rules to assure quick and easy access to their VA Primary Care Provider:
• All visits are by appointment only. You must call ahead for same-day access to your provider. There is no "walk-in clinic."
• You must show a valid VA picture ID, driver’s license, vehicle registration and report to the Visitors Control Center 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment to obtain a supplemental ID card for access to the post.
The Visitors Control Center will receive a daily schedule of patients expected. You will be given access to the post only if your name is on the schedule and you have the ID card (see No. 4 below).
• While on post, you must follow all rules and regulations as posted. You will be a guest on post with the sole purpose of attending to VA business only.
• You are requested not to bring guests. If someone must accompany you for the purpose of driving or assisting you, they must be on the schedule and have a valid photo identification, license and registration.
• The hours of operation for the clinic are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Visitors Control Center can be found on Oceanport Avenue.
"Congressman Chris Smith, several veterans organizations and I have worked long and hard to locate a veterans clinic here in Monmouth County, so we want veterans to utilize it to the utmost," Narozanick concluded.
