holiday craft fair Dec. 6
The New Egypt Elementary School PTO will hold its sixth annual holiday craft fair Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The school is at 44 North Main St., New Egypt, off routes 528 and 537. The event will feature more than 90 vendors selling items such as quilts, jewelry, gift baskets, holiday decorations, American Girl doll clothes, candles, wooden crafts and more. There will also be a bake sale, Scholastic book fair (buy one, get one free), and a holiday shop for children to shop for the people on their lists, with pricing for a child’s budget. Santa will be present and holiday entertainment will be featured throughout the day. Details: (609) 758-2848.

New Year’s Eve party
The New Egypt Elks will host a New Year’s Eve party at the lodge, 105 Lakewood Road, Plumsted, Dec. 31 from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. The admission charge of $20 per person will include music, karaoke, dancing, party favors, appetizers, hot and cold buffet, champagne toast and continental breakfast. The Jackson Branch of the Ocean County Library, 2 Jackson Drive, has announced its schedule of computer classes for the month of December:
• Dec. 2, 7 p.m., "Book Browsing on the Web."
• Dec. 5, 10 a.m., "E-mail Basics."
• Dec. 10, 10 a.m., "Internet Basics."
• Dec. 11, 10 a.m., "Internet: Beyond the Basics."
• Dec. 16, 10 a.m., "Microsoft Word for Beginners."
• Dec. 18, 2 p.m., "Mouse Basics."

events for December
The Jackson Branch of the Ocean County Library, 2 Jackson Drive, has announced its schedule of young adult activities for the month of December:
• Dec. 4, 7 p.m., Teen Advisory Board. For teens who want to make a difference in the library.
• Dec. 8, 7 p.m., Game Night for children in fourth grade and up. Participants must bring their own board games. No registration is necessary.
• Dec. 10, 7 p.m., "Creating Your Own Holiday Cards," for ages 12 and up.
• Dec. 20, 7 p.m., "Cool Cooking with Kids Series: Holiday Delights, Cookies and Cakes for the Holidays," for ages 12 and up.
