MIDDLETOWN — At its Nov. 21 meeting, the Middletown Township Board of Education offered a moment of silence for Kimberly Allen, 44, a former president of the Lincroft Elementary School PTA.
The Lincroft woman’s husband, 44- year-old Patrick Allen, has been arrested and charged with the murder of his wife, who was killed in the family’s Lincroft home on Nov. 18, confirmed First Assistant Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni.
Allen is being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, Freehold Township, in lieu of $1.5 million bail.
Gramiccioni said authorities received a 911 call at 11:47 a.m. that morning.
He said the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head and strangulation and confirmed reports that there was a dispute about finances before the murder, as stated in court by Assistant Prosecutor Marc LeMieux.
“The allegation is that he committed murder arising out of a financial dispute,” Gramiccioni said.
According to her obituary, Kimberly and Patrick Allen were married for 20 years and had two sons.
She is also survived by her parents, Frank and Eileen Weighorst Torchy, her sister, Barbara J. Stauff, and many nieces and nephews.
Gramiccioni said Allen entered a plea of not guilty and is being represented by his cousin, attorney John Charles Allen, of New Brunswick.
If convicted, Allen faces a minimum 30-year prison sentence, Gramiccioni said.
