FREEHOLD — Municipal officials have voted to renew alcoholic beverage licenses in Freehold Borough.

A Borough Council resolution stated that plenary retail distribution licenses for the sale of alcoholic beverages for the year beginning Sept. 18, 2015, and ending June 30, 2016, be issued to:

Gusaiji, Inc. (Freehold Liquor and Convenience Store)

The resolution also stated that the club licenses for the sale of alcoholic beverages for the year beginning Sept. 18, 2015, and ending June 30, 2016, be issued to:

 B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 1454

American Legion Monmouth Post No. 54

 Columbian Club

Walter J. Conley Elks Lodge No. 1379

The resolution further stated plenary retail consumption licenses for the sale of alcoholic beverages for the year beginning Sept. 18, 2015, and ending June 30, 2016, be issued to:

J&G Innkeepers Inc., (Olde Court Jester)

 Frank Federici and Sons Inc.

 FR Park Food Service Inc.

 Park Avenue Bistro Inc.

 KMK Hospitality Inc. (Metropolitan Café)

Finally, the resolution stated that plenary retail consumption licenses with broad package privilege for the sale of alcoholic beverages for the year beginning Sept. 18, 2015, and ending June 30, 2016, be issued to:

Norkash LLC (Max’s Beer, Wine and Liquor TRE)

 Borough Tavern LLC

Action at a recent council meeting was also taken on a capital improvements project.

Officials expanded a contract that was awarded in 2013 to Abbington Engineering, Freehold, to design new emergency generator units for the firehouse, water plant and pump station, according to Business Administrator Joseph Bellina.

“We are broadening the scope of the contract. Originally, we were going to put emergency generators in two of the six wells at the water plant. Now, we will put them in all six wells,” Bellina said.

The revised plan required “extra design and inspection,” he said.

The cost of the addition to the contract is $18,000 and brings the total amount for the engineering firm’s contract to $65,000.

In other business, a resolution was passed authorizing an amendment to an agreement between Freehold Borough and the Freehold Borough Policemen’s Benevolent Association Local No. 159.

Due to an omission from an already executed contract between the borough and the PBA, the resolution was necessary. It addresses in part “municipal police officers, who during their off-duty hours, engage in or perform police-related activities such as directing traffic or crowd control for private persons or entities pursuant to an arrangement with the borough.” The rate established for police officers is $66.30 per hour, according to Bellina.
